  • Wooow!!! A big floating eye thing!
  • Oh my God! It's full of statues!!

  • This whole sequence reminds me somewhat of the work of fantasy artist Ian Miller...
  • The girl (angel?) with her big egg.
  • She goes about her strange daily water collecting business. They have similar big round bottles in the live action bits, but with Ribena in them.
  • Here's the girl with the bloke. In the 'aftermath' dub he is her brother, but in the proper version they don't seem to know who each other are.
  • Sleep. There is one ludicrous scene in the anime where the little girl is sleeping and the guy is standing guard. There is no movement but a fire dying down, and I swear the scene was a good 3 minutes long at least! At the convention I kept nodding off myself due to my fategued state, and whenever I snapped back to reality it was still going! Hooray for that kind of thing!
  • here he is, with his strange futuristic crucifix thingy.
  • The fossil of an angel? Oshii likes his fossils; check out the similar skeletons (not to mention bas-relief tree..) in 'Ghost in the Shell'. He also likes his beagles, but none in evidence here.
  • Such a sublime abandoned cityscape!
  • some ghostly soldiers...
  • ..who hunt huge floating shadow fish. A remarkable sequence!
• Oh dear! now it's the live action bits
  • You can't go far wrong with some radiation suits, great abandoned industrial locations, a red sky filter and being in the 80's, but the makers of this film push the boundries of wrongness. It's all a bit dull and pointless. Fast forward to the anime bits.
  • These are cheap actors.
  • Live action approximation of the girl with the egg.
  • Very poor superimposition transition of the anime girl.
  • Wow! This must be the only american film during which bad fan art is created! If it isn't, let me know!!!!!
  • Humanity saved by 80's video effect! Film at 11!
  • Red sky at night...
